How this started
Before NatureTech was a company, it was a balcony covered in PVC pipes.
It was 2010. We had spent a couple of years working on commercial hydroponic farms in Canada, and we wanted to try the same thing at home, on a small scale, just for ourselves. So we built a system by hand, out of pipes and scrap wood. It was ugly. It worked. And then we couldn’t stop. Eighty plants on a small balcony. A daily rhythm we hadn’t expected to fall in love with: five quiet minutes in the morning, the slow watching of something become.
That was the beginning.
What we do now
Fifteen years on, and countless home hydroponic models we’ve tried, we know the best system in the world won’t deliver if the grower behind it doesn’t know what to do. That’s why we don’t just build growing systems. We build growers.
Alongside our range of complete systems, we created everything you need to develop as a grower, naturally, at your own pace, right alongside your plants. So that, without overthinking it, you become someone who understands their garden, knows what they’re doing, and turns every salad into a story of growth.
What’s next
Our latest development is the new Smart generation: systems with integrated Vegardi app connectivity that give growers real-time guidance, smart scheduling, and alerts tailored to their specific setup and crops. It’s the closest we’ve come to putting a personal growing coach inside every system.
But it won’t be the last thing we build. NatureTech has never been a company that launches a product and walks away. We continuously develop, refine, and upgrade our systems based on what real home growers actually need. The next thing is always in progress.
What we believe
Growing food is deeply human. Most of us just stopped doing it, not because we didn’t need it, but because modern life made it easy to forget.
When you start growing, something quiet shifts. Your garden becomes the calmest part of your day. Food you grew yourself tastes different. Your kids start paying attention.
In a time when technology pulls us away from the physical world, we chose to build ours in the opposite direction. Vegardi doesn’t replace you. It teaches you a craft that previous generations knew by heart and that ours nearly lost.
