How it works

A self-circulating system, quietly in the background.

Water moves on a loop. You handle the parts that need a human.

The system

  • Pumps water on a set schedule through all four channels, low-voltage and quiet.
  • Runs the smart-plug timer. If anything stops, the app alerts you before plants suffer.
  • Recirculates what is not used. Water returns to the reservoir, very little wasted.

You

  • Top up water when the app reminds you, about once a week, or connect the float valve to a nearby tap and let it refill itself.
  • Refresh nutrients every few weeks to keep plants fed.
  • Check in with the app whenever you want to know what to do, in the routine, and the rare moments something is off, it tells you what's next.

The details that matter

Built to last.

01

Channel access

Channels you can open.

Removable covers let you clean a channel or trim roots in minutes (no disassembly, no tools). That access matters: it keeps channels free of buildup from one cycle to the next, so each new planting starts clean.

02

Resilient flow

Water stays where it counts.

Each channel holds roughly four liters even when the pump pauses. That makes timer-based growing possible · and gives plants grace time if anything stops the cycle.

03

Reservoir

Forty liters of water, season after season.

Triple-layer insulation. Food-grade, UV-stable plastic. Foldable for storage. Removable lid, drain port, and a port for the float valve if you want auto-refill.

04

Crop range

Channels wide enough for more than herbs.

Wide 100 mm channels and neoprene collars hold plants with substantial root systems. Tomatoes, peppers, larger greens. Not just herbs · the full range, on one wall.

Weekly Maintenance

Keep your nutrient solution balanced.

This short but essential maintenance helps keep the nutrient solution optimal. It includes refilling the reservoir, adjusting EC/PPM, and balancing pH according to app guidelines.

What you'll need
EC meter / PPM meter
Digital pH meter / Chemical pH test kit / pH test stripsDigital pH meter is recommended; chemical test kit or litmus paper strips also work.
pH Up
pH Down
Hydroponic nutrientsMust be a hydroponic-specific formulation. Regular garden fertilizer is not suitable.
Fresh waterA water filter (RO) is needed only if your starting tap water EC is high.
Measuring cupFor pouring and measuring larger volumes.
SyringeFor precise drop-by-drop measurements.
Safety notes
Never pour pH Up and pH Down directly into each other. Always add to the reservoir water, one at a time, and wait between adjustments.
Wear gloves and eye protection when handling the concentrated nutrient and pH bottles. Once diluted in the reservoir, the solution is safe to contact briefly.
Do not touch the water while the pump is running. Disconnect the transformer before extended maintenance.
💡Best practices
Add nutrient concentrate before adjusting pH. Nutrients shift pH on their own, so adjusting first wastes your work.
Adjust in small increments (1 to 2 ml for a 20 to 40 L reservoir). Wait a few minutes between doses and re-measure before adding more.
What to do
0 of 5 done
1Step 1 of 5
Refill water tank
Top up your reservoir with fresh water to compensate for what plants drank and evaporated during the week. Stop about 5 cm from the top.
Step done
2Step 2 of 5
Measure EC/PPM
Rinse the EC/PPM meter probe, insert it into the reservoir, and wait for the reading to stabilize. Write down the number before adjusting anything.
Step done
3Step 3 of 5
Adjust EC/PPM
Add a little hydroponic nutrient concentrate, stir gently, and measure again. Repeat until you reach the recommended range.
Step done
4Step 4 of 5
Measure pH
Rinse the pH probe, insert it into the reservoir, and wait for the reading to stabilize. Most hydroponic crops thrive between 5.5 and 6.5.
Step done
5Step 5 of 5
Adjust pH
If pH is too high, add pH Down in 1 to 2 ml increments. If too low, add pH Up the same way. Stir, wait, re-measure.

Avoid afternoon sun in hot climates. Lettuce bolts quickly above 25°C. Move to shade or use shade cloth.
Plant every 2 weeks for continuous harvest. When one batch peaks, the next is already growing.
Harvest in the morning when leaves are crispest. Pick outer leaves first, the plant keeps producing from the center.

What you can grow

Pick the food your kitchen actually uses.

Herbs, leafy greens, fruiting plants, legumes. Vegardi walks you through each one, from first seed to first and every harvest.

Honest answers

Questions we hear most.

What if I have never grown anything before?

Most Wally owners had never grown food before they bought. The Vegardi app starts with what to do today, in your space, with the plants you chose. You learn as you go, by doing.

The "what now" question is what the app is built to answer.

How much time does this actually take per week?

Between five and fifteen minutes a week, once your plants are growing. The work is topping up water, checking on a few channels, and harvesting what is ready. The app reminds you when each thing is due.

How hard is installation? Can I do it as a renter?

Installation takes about 30 minutes for one person. You'll need a drill (not included) and a pencil to mark the wall; the level, screwdriver, screws, and wall anchors come in the box. Most rental walls (concrete, wood, or drywall) work.

If you are not sure whether your specific wall fits, the Will it fit my wall? page walks you through it.

Will I know exactly what to do each week?

Yes. This is the main reason people succeed with Wally. The Vegardi app sends a small set of tasks every week based on what you planted, where you live, and how much light your space gets. No guessing about what is due.

What happens if a plant looks unhealthy?

Open the app, take a photo, and ask. Vegardi's plant diagnosis covers the most common pests, deficiencies, and stress responses, with structured next steps. If it cannot answer, you can reach our team. You are not on your own.

Will it smell, attract bugs, or be messy indoors?

No. The channels are sealed at every planting site, so the water surface stays covered. Without exposed standing water, fungus gnats and mosquitoes do not have a home. There is no soil to spill.

What if my Wi-Fi goes down?

The smart plug holds its last schedule, so the pump keeps running on its programmed cycle. The app reconnects when Wi-Fi returns. Each channel also holds about four liters of water, so a short interruption never dries the plants out.

Can I grow tomatoes and large fruiting vegetables on Wally?

Yes. Wally grows fruiting crops like tomatoes, peppers, cucumbers, eggplants, and melons. They are warm-season plants, so give them a spot with at least five hours of direct sun a day, and add support or trellising as they grow and start carrying fruit. The Vegardi app guides the timing and feeding for each stage.

What happens after the 12 months of Vegardi Premium?

The system keeps running. The smart plug, the schedule, and the plant library all remain available on the free Vegardi tier. You can keep Premium for the advanced diagnosis and growing advisor, or not. Either way, Wally keeps growing.

What if I change my mind?

Before it ships, you can cancel your pre-order anytime for a full refund. After delivery, you have 30 days to return the system: it must be unused and in its original packaging, and a 15% restocking fee applies. The two-year warranty covers manufacturing defects.
